Chemical pumps are used in a wide variety of applications, especially in the chemical, food processing, power generation and mining industries among others. They are used to pump all manner of liquids including hot, cold, toxic, hazardous, flammable and volatile liquids. The types of chemical pumps include centrifugal, metering, and positive displacement pumps which differ in the method by which they move fluids. Some pumps may have shaft seals to prevent leakage while others may be sealless or magnetic drive pumps.
